Three Simple Ways I Stay Productive Even When I’m Exhausted
Tools that help me stay productive even when I’m tired

Today, I finished my rugby practice and I was exhausted.
I came home and knew I had to write this blog post, but I felt too tired.
I almost didn’t write this story but here I am writing it.
I stayed productive and wrote this article, although I’m drained.
I want to show you the three simple ways I do this so you can.
So, if you’re ready, let’s dive in.
Way #1: Eat or drink something

Before you work on something and you’re tired, get some food and water in.
It replenishes your energy.
And it gives you the strength to do your work with high productivity.
“One cannot think well… if one has not dined well.” — Virginia Woolf
When I returned from rugby today, I knew I had to eat before writing.
And when I did, I gained more energy to write productively.
What I did:
I ate healthy food.
It contained lots of carbs and vegetables with some protein.
And I drank lots of water.
Way #2: Take a nap

If you’re so tired you can’t do anything, take a short nap.
It restores your energy.
And it helps you do your work productively.
“If I’m tired, I take a nap.” — Casper Van Dien
Right before writing this story, I took a nap.
It gave me the energy I needed to write this post.
What I did:
I set an alarm for 15 minutes.
I put the alarm beside me, sit on my couch, close my eyes and rest.
When my alarm goes off, I force myself to wake up and not snooze.
Way #3: Walk around

If you’re working and you’re tired, walk around.
It refreshes your mind and makes you more creative.
And the more creative you are, the more productive you are.
“Walking is the best possible exercise.” — Thomas Jefferson
While I was writing this story I got more tired.
So, I walked to drink water and then went to the toilet to pee.
After that, I felt more energetic when I came back to write.
What I do:
I don’t work more than two hours without walking around.
I walk around my home to stretch.
And I think about new ideas for my work as I walk.
Three simple ways to stay productive even when you’re exhausted:
Eat or drink something before you start working.
Take a 15-minute nap before you work.
Walk around to stretch and gain new creative ideas.
You can’t be productive if you’re exhausted.
You need ideas and energy to be productive.
I’ve given you the tools that work for me, so use them to help yourself.
